Main Purpose:

As part of the development of a new strategic multi-million project in the Southern part of Africa, Trafigura is seeking to identify a Project Leader representative which will be part of the delivery team appointed to develop and execute the project.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and be part of the definition, implementation and satisfactory execution of all the required Project Management process and procedures for the project, including among others, Project Governance, Execution plan, Project Controls Plan, Risk Management, Resourcing, etc…for the different phases of the project (from Scoping Stage up to Construction).
  • Report satisfactorily about Project Progress through agreed metrics, with the relevant frequency to keep internal key decision-making stakeholders involved and supportive to the project.
  • Collaborate and participate in the procurement activities of the JV for external services, helping in the definition and evaluation of the technical, commercial and/or project execution side.
  • Engage actively with relevant Project Stakeholders to ensure their alignment to the project goals, helping to smooth the development and execution phases of the project.
  • The role will require frequent travelling to Sub-Saharian countries (Angola, DRC and Zambia).
  • Degree, or equivalent, in relevant disciplines (Engineering, Project Management). Desirable MBA or similar Business educational background.
  • Experience: minimum of 5 years, with relevant exposure to Project Development of Electrical Infrastructure in International environment (from Concept to FEED study definition). Specific experience in African countries will be a plus.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, assume responsibilities.
  • Experience in supporting procurement functions with the establishment of tech-commercials requirements and evaluation will be a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management approach and team work abilities.
  • Proactive, autonomous – but with the relevant breadth so ensure management alignment.
  • Proficiency in English. Knowledge of other languages would be a plus, particularly Portuguese and French.
  • Requirements
