ABOUT THE TEAM

In Platform Engineering we believe in the power of autonomy and in giving end-to-end ownership to all engineers. To support Platform Engineering’s mission, we —the Cloud Platform team— power up the  infrastructure that serves millions of users of Trade Republic, by providing secure and reliable environments so teams can have access, visibility and tools to help them to deliver cloud native Software.

More specifically, Cloud Platform team enables….

• Access management platforms for role based access controls throughout the systems

• Networking communication between internal and external applications

• Observability tools to empower our engineers to drive actionable insights into system security and performance, improving the quality of the software they deliver

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

• Be a thought leader, and technical guide in the fields of reliability and observability

• Ensure scalability, stability and availability of our systems through automation, problem prevention and evangelising system ownership culture 

• Further develop the monitoring and alerting for our systems to ensure a reliable service to our customers

• Provide the means for teams to have full observability (e.g. latency, availability, health metrics…) for mission-critical systems once they are live 

• Design and maintain scalable infrastructure on the Cloud (AWS), leveraging infrastructure as code with Terraform

• Architect and ship software to help engineering teams adopt best practices to ship software faster through automated continuous integration and delivery pipelines

• Empower your colleagues to become better every day by giving them constant constructive feedback, sharing acquired knowledge and guiding them when applicable

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• Previous Experience working in software engineering. This includes cloud, infrastructure, distributed systems, systems engineering and networking)

• Previous experience leading infrastructure or software related projects

• Well-rounded understanding of managing business-critical systems in cloud infrastructure, following best practices for observability and scalability 

• Good understanding of distributed systems, system engineering and networking

• Solid experience with at least one programming language. We mostly use Kotlin, Java and Python but we are far more interested in your well-roundedness as an engineer rather than knowledge of a certain language, tool or framework

• Exceptional ownership and drive to create business impact & to empower your colleagues to become better every day

• Strong communication skills and ability to drive ideas & technical implementations to stakeholders from various backgrounds
