ABOUT THE ROLE

To support Trade Republic’s mission, we - the Operations Tech team is at the forefront of keeping our growth scalable through the development of solutions and tools to increase productivity in operations. We are a mix of skills and cultures, having Data Scientists, Engineers of all specialties, and Product Managers, all working together with one goal: deliver efficient, personal customer experiences at scale!

Projects range from improving data warehouse architecture, building data marts from raw sources, using machine learning techniques to simulate the future, creating testing capabilities on our models, defining and ensuring conventions and best practices or educating stakeholders on how to use our tech stack.

As an Analytics Engineer in the Operations Tech team you will own, build, and improve core data models end-to-end. You will work on data warehouse architecture and research solutions that improve our infrastructure to provide clean, lean and accurate data.

Please note that this position is based in Berlin, Germany - relocation support is provided if required.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Working closely with product and business stakeholders to define and build meaningful product metrics
• Develop analytical products such as dashboards, models and tooling to enable self-serve reporting and analysis for stakeholders.
• Designing and implement new products/features to expand our platform capabilities for operations functions
• Maintaining our data models end-to-end, from ingestion to transformation and publish
• Collaborating closely with central data platform teams and your cross functional product & engineering team
• Improve our architecture (snowflake and dbt) based on what brings the most impact to cost reduction and speed, applying software engineering best practices
• Work with our central data platform team to define reusable data models and develop high quality pipelines
• Take full ownership of projects from scoping to delivery, working autonomously

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

• At least 5 years of engineering experience with an analytical mindset
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, high attention to detail, and a strong bias to action and iteration
• Solid understanding of architectures, design principles and engineering best practices
• Experience with our tech stack is a bonus: S3/Snowflake/Airflow/Python/DBT
• You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• You're a self-starter who thrives under a high level of autonomy.
• You’re eager to teach, learn and grow together with your team, you promote knowledge sharing
• A humble and conscious approach that not all good ideas are yours, and not all ideas are good
