ABOUT THE ROLE

The Analytics Platform team is part of the Data Platform department. We are focused on building the perfect setup for Data & non-Data stakeholders to own their data, work with data and publish data products. This includes a self-service platform, data architecture, governance, tooling, best practices and expert advisory.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer in the Analytics Platform team, you will help us evolve our platform to the next level, from idea and design to development and rollout. Also, you will advocate for best practices and disseminate knowledge throughout our company. Lastly, you will contribute to maintaining the few Core Pipelines owned by our team.

Please note that the position is based in Berlin, Germany. Relocation support will be provided if applicable.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Understand our overarching goals around Data Mesh and our organisation setup to tailor the implementation of features
• Ideate, design and implement product/features for evolving our analytics platform
• Drive the adoption of new features while enhancing and optimising existing ones
• Present your work company-wide to improve adoption and collect feedback
• Maintain the few Core Pipelines owned by our Team
• Analyse usage, costs, and metadata with a bird's-eye view to identify impactful optimizations in setup, runtime, and delivery speed for our stakeholders
• Weekly rotation to support Service Desk requests and Office Hours

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 5 years of engineering experience with an analytical mindset
• Solid understanding of architectural trade-offs, design principles and engineering best practices
• Strong engineering skills (Python, Bash, SQL) to develop self-service features and evolve our offering
• Understanding of Data Mesh approach and ability to tailor it to specific needs
• Independent in delivering projects, from scoping to delivery and adoption
• Experience with our tech stack is a bonus: AWS/Snowflake/Airflow/DBT/Metabase/Datahub
