ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Foundation team is a central team that focuses on (1) building and publishing a very limited number of Core Models (e.g. Customer, Trades) and (2) offer a self-service platform that empowers all teams to build and publish their own Core Models. The self-service platform is essential for scalability, encompassing architecture, governance and tools. The scope is Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and Data As A Product.

As a Senior+ Analytics Engineer in the data foundations team, you will contribute to design and develop the self-service platform that empowers all our teams to build and publish their Core Models. You will offer advice and best practices to these teams. Lastly, you will contribute to maintaining the few Core Models owned by our team.

Please note that the position is based in Berlin, Germany.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Take full ownership of projects from scoping to delivery, working autonomously
• Bring ideas to evolve our data architecture, governance and best practices
• Design and implement new products/features to expand our self-service platform
• Maintain our Core Models end-to-end, from ingestion to transformation and publish
• Close collaboration with Data Platform team and relevant Business Stakeholders
• Improve our architecture (snowflake and dbt) based on what brings the most impact to cost reduction and speed, applying software engineering best practices

• At least 5 years of engineering experience with an analytical mindset
• Independent in delivering entire projects, from scoping to delivery and adoption
• Orientation on personal and professional growth, you never settle with what you have
• Good at communicating effectively
• Solid understanding of architectures, design principles and engineering best practices
• Knack for research and passion for industry best practices
• Experience with our tech stack is a bonus: S3/Snowflake/Airflow/Python/DBT
