ABOUT THE ROLE

The Risk Management Tech team is a unit focusing on building models for reporting, analysis and prediction of financial and risk metrics. You will model the Bank's processes into financial concepts such as liquidity, capital and risks - create new understandings and measures. 

Projects range from improving data warehouse architecture, building data marts from raw sources, using machine learning techniques to simulate the future, creating testing capabilities on our models, defining and ensuring conventions and best practices or educating stakeholders on how to use our tech stack.

As an Analytics Engineer in the Risk Management Tech team you will own, build, and improve core data models end-to-end. You will work on data warehouse architecture and research solutions that improve our infrastructure to provide clean, lean and accurate datasets. 

Please note that the position is based in Berlin, Germany.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Designing and implementing data products to power financial reporting, risk controlling and other regulatory aspects of running a bank.
• Owning your data and decision models end-to-end, from ingestion in our data lake to consumption in a data warehouse or machine learning model.
• Understanding how the european regulatory landscape effects data management from a financial, risk and capital markets perspective
• Interacting with stakeholders from Finance, Risk and Treasury to continuously optimise and evolve your models.
• Creating dashboards or other visualisations of the output from your models
• Defining data quality rules, standards, and metrics

• At least 4 years of data or engineering experience with an analytical mindset
• You have built finance, capital, treasury models before - and speaks both lingos from the business and technology side
• You have a strong background in financial/capital markets/risk topics - that you acquired either from business school or by working, preferably both.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Skilled in prioritisation and effort estimation
• Knack for research and passion for industry best practices
• Solid understanding of relational databases and pipelining principles
• Experience across all stages of the data pipeline: ingestion, transformations, mart creation
• Experience with our tech stack is a bonus: S3/Snowflake/Airflow/Python/DBT/Looker/Metabase
