Parameta Solutions is the Data & Analytics division of TP ICAP Group. The business provides clients with unbiased OTC content and proprietary data, in-depth insights across price discovery, risk management, benchmark and indices, and pre and post-trade analytics. Its post-trade solutions offering helps market participants control their counterparty and regulatory risks through a growing range of tools that manage balance-sheet exposure, as well as compression and optimisation services. The Data & Analytics division includes the following brands: Tullett Prebon Information, PVM Data Services, ICAP Information and Burton-Taylor Consulting.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Market Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in managing and optimizing financial real-time market data systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in market data feeds, and experience working with financial exchanges and vendors. This role requires expertise in software development, data engineering, and infrastructure to ensure seamless data distribution and availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring optimal accuracy and timeliness of Data on a real-time basis while implementing monitoring tools to detect data issues.

  • Collaborating closely with internal teams and businesses units to support market data needs.

  • Integrate, normalize, and distribute market data from various internal financial trading systems and third-party providers.

  • Optimize data processing pipelines to ensure low-latency and high-throughput performance.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot market data issues, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.

  • Support and maintain customer real-time market data feeds.

  • Support and maintain real-time market data feeds to vendors, exchanges.

  • Implement enhancements to market data infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Automate data ingestion, processing, and monitoring using scripting and software development best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with exchange policies, licensing agreements, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for market data applications.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, system architecture, and processes.

  • Flexibility to stretch and take challenges

  • Role requires individual to work on weekends or public holidays to support or deploy solutions.

Principal Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting components that connect to electronic trading venues such as exchanges and client feeds. This includes related components such as integration with pre-trade risk checking systems.

Experience & Competencies

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in market data support/engineering or data infrastructure roles.

  • Experience of market-data platforms i.e. Refinitiv RTDS (preferred), Bloomberg, direct feed providers , cloud technology such as AWS, GCP. Basic networking/connectivity skills (e.g. Multicast, routing, TCP/IP working knowledge).

  • Proficient with OS and network level tuning and editing scripts on Windows/Linux platforms.

  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Linux bash or TCL).

  • Ability to conduct self-learning, pick up new tools and able to be independent with minimal guidance from the project leads/managers

Person Specification Knowledge

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

  • Good to have: Financial markets/ trading business knowledge with exposure to market data products e.g. Refinitiv (RTDS), Refinitiv Workspace, JPASSOC subscriber and compositor, Contex, City Vision Excelerator, ITRS Geneos, BPIPE , MPF experience with large scale/ high frequency/low latency distributed applications

  • Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders outside of the immediate department ‘to get the job done’

  • A thorough knowledge of at least 1 of the following must be demonstrated: 1. TREP, 2. FIX protocol as used for Market Data

  • Knowledge of market Data Terminals such as EIKON or Bloomberg a distinct advantage

  • Basic knowledge of Excel using Real-Time data should be shown

Skills

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of market data providers (Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE, CME, etc.).

  • Knowledge of RTDS/RTC/RMDS market data platforms.

  • Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Timeseries DBs).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Understanding of network protocols, latency optimization, and data serialization formats.

  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, Bash, CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Linux Administration.

  • Communicates effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible.

  • Demonstrates strong customer focus.

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others.

  • Constructively handles disagreements to reach a resolution.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups/ personalities.
