Torch Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer/Analyst to support the analysis of high-fidelity tactical missile systems models and simulations on Redstone Arsenal. The ideal candidate has a strong quantitative background and demonstrated ability to independently assess system performance data. The candidate will develop and execute analysis studies, process and evaluate large Monte Carlo simulation datasets, identify factors driving system behavior, and communicate technical findings to engineer teams and government. A successful candidate is a critical thinker capable of taking an engineering problem or performance question, developing a structured analytical approach, determining the data required to answer questions, assessing the validity of results, and providing clear conclusions and recommendations.

Job Duties:

  • Develop Python and MATLAB tools to automate data extraction and reduction, statistical analysis, and visualizations.
  • Perform detailed analysis of sensors algorithms and end-to-end simulation system performance.
  • Execute and analyze Monte Carlo parametric, sensitivity, and uncertainty studies to characterize system behavior across nominal and off-nominal conditions.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment and critical thinking to investigate unexpected results, inconsistent data, outliers, and model input/output issues.
  • Prepare clear, technically rigorous reports, briefing charts, and visualizations and present findings to engineering teams and government customers.

Job Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, engineering analysis, modeling and simulation, or test analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing technical data to assess system, model, component, sensor, or simulation performance.
  • Experience using Python and MATLAB to process data, perform statistical analysis, create visualizations, or automate analysis tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently define an analytical problem, develop a logical analysis approach, identify required data, execute the study, and communicate conclusions.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate assumptions, question results, identify data limitations, and distinguish meaningful findings from artifacts or unsupported conclusions.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis concepts, including distributions, sampling, regression, correlation, confidence intervals, variability, and uncertainty.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience analyzing IR and/or RF sensor phenomenology and signatures.
  • Experience with C++, Fortran, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with software development and integration.
