Senior BI Engineer

As a Senior BI Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our data-driven decision-making. This is an opportunity to take ownership of impactful analytics projects and contribute to key business initiatives through data insights and visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Data Projects: Own and drive large-scale analytics projects, transforming raw data into actionable insights that support key business decisions.
• Data Modeling & Ontology: Lead data ontology processes, define business flows, and key metrics to ensure data accuracy and relevance across the organization.
• Data Visualization: Design and develop clear, compelling, and interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI, making complex data easy to understand.
• Trend Analysis: Use data to identify business patterns, trends, and insights, effectively communicating these findings to stakeholders across different departments.
• Technology Lead: Develop and implement data solutions that streamline decision-making, improve efficiency, and help the business grow.
• Infrastructure Enhancement: Be the technical lead for enhancing and optimizing the infrastructure of our Power BI environment to ensure it is robust, scalable, and performance-optimized.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

About You:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a BI Developer (required).
• Deep expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and SQL.
• Ability to work independently, leading large-scale, cross-organizational projects from inception to completion.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting complex data sets and translating them into actionable insights.
• Proven experience in optimizing BI infrastructure for performance and scalability.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A self-starter who works independently and takes ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Experience working in an online-tech company or a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

• Experience implementing a semantic layer (using DBT or similar tools).
• Hands-on experience in DBT, Apache Airflow, Python, Snowflake and Power Automate/Apps

• Experience leading a BI guild or serving as a BI guild master.
