About Security Team at TikTok
The security team is missioned to build infrastructures, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross-functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. In this team you'll have a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable and secure-by-design systems and solutions. You also have opportunities to go through the whole lifecycle of security products or services, are encouraged to participate in each phase, each part of the projects and have the whole picture of what you are working on.

We count on our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to empower our users with high availability and stellar performance level to pursue their missions from security perspective. As we expand our business in EMEA, we are currently seeking experienced SRE to deliver insights from massive-scale security systems in real time. Our challenges are not those regular day-to-day technical problems. Instead, you, together with your team members, are encouraged to bring fresh ideas, investigate the existing infrastructure of TikTok, identify problems, and develop new solutions to those challenges of a kind not previously addressed by big tech. We are moving fast while expanding on a large scale (1B+ users). This role assumes a huge impact and plays a key role in the company's business.

Responsibilities
- Work with TikTok product engineering team and security software engineers on system design, software platforms, capacity planning and launch reviews throughout whole lifecycle of services; provide your expertise feedback, guidance, and recommend solutions on each phase of the project.
- With cutting edge technologies, build automation tools and solutions to measure and monitor availability, scalability, latency and overall system health of security products and services developed by partner teams, and improve the efficiency and sustainability of system maintenance.
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
- Consistently evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability, velocity and efficiency.
- Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems. Support product and security engineering teams identifying flaws and vulnerabilities in our systems. - BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant majors with 2+ years of working experience.
- Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Go, Python, C/C++, Java, or Rust.
- Experience of analyzing and investigating production issues at scale.
- Experience and understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts, approaches, methods, and tooling.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience with large cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
- Code Infrastructure with tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef or SaltStack.
- Secure infrastructure in a distributed system with automation or practice chaos engineering.
- Experience with two or more from the following areas: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, developing large software systems, mobile application development, and/or security software development.
- Background in cyber security, including but not limited to: threat intelligence, IAM, key management systems, data security, application security, applied cryptography.
