Responsibilities
- Debug and troubleshoot on Android OS and networks and work on back-end development, including systems, networks, protocols, architecture, storage, caching, and security.
- Participate in large-scale Android OS mobile infrastructure projects across TikTok by building robust and scalable software using various programming languages, identifying gaps in existing TikTok Android architecture, and working with a team to align and address those gaps to provide solutions to ensure a scalable and maintainable Android architecture.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and UX developers to analyze user requirements and build interactive Android features for the TikTok app.
- Work within an Agile environment, including participating in priority/sprint planning, story planning, daily standups, as well as analysis and communication of change impacts on the functional team and business stakeholders.
- Use multiple programming languages to build a release platform, organize release pipelines, and ensure smooth code submission and launch.
- Identify and resolve software defects by reviewing code errors, log files, metrics, debugging functions and other troubleshooting methodologies.
- Coordinate testing efforts with firmware and end to end app/device testing to ensure TikTok apps perform to expectations.
- Research on emerging web-based technologies, evaluating the latest developments and applying new technologies to provide iterative Android product improvements.Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
- Creating secure and stable Android OS privacy applications using Java, Kotlin, or SQLite;
- Developing an efficient and maintainable mobile Android application using Kotlin;
- Building a secure database on Android applications to store data using SQLite with encryption and sending data securely to backend using RESTful API;
- Building automated test scripts using Java or Python for front-end testing, backend API testing, and ETL data automation;
- Designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks and scripts integrated with CI/CD systems, and building robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions for functional and regression testing; and
- Building and testing software solutions using Agile methodology and DevOps development practices.

Travel Requirement: Domestic and/or international travel up to 5% required.

Type: Full time, 40 hours/week
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $234062 - $355000 per year
