Internationalization Content Safety Platform team is committed to maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment for ByteDance Internationalization users. By developing and iterating Machine Learning models and information systems, we can discover risks earlier and faster, monitor risks, respond to emergencies, support business development with artificial intelligence technology, and strive to maintain in-app ecological security more efficiently, agilely, and omnipotently.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below:

Online Assessment
Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment in HackerRank.

Responsibilities:
- Engage in the research and application innovation of pre-training large model technology in Internationalization business scenarios, focusing on improving pre-training efficiency, optimizing data selection mechanism and training strategy through precise screening and processing strategy research on massive data, and optimizing the complete base Language Model.
- The ability to rely on the multilingual needs of Internationalization scenarios, we deeply optimize the multilingual training technology, including data strategy and model strategy, to improve the knowledge transfer and alignment in various languages, and realize the powerful multilingual base model ability.
- In-depth exploration of post training (Post training) technology, including continuing pre-training (CPT), fine-tuning alignment (SFT, RFT) and other different aspects, carefully studying fine-tuning alignment technology and reasoning ability optimization, ensuring accurate adaptation and efficient performance of large models in different tasks and fields of Internationalization business applications.
- The ability to make every effort to overcome the problem of model efficiency optimization, starting from multiple dimensions such as model architecture design, algorithm optimization, including but not limited to knowledge distillation, model quantization compression, sample sampling, etc., to create high-efficiency and low-energy pre-trained large models, so that they can demonstrate excellent processing speed and resource utilization in practical business applications, and help build intelligent, efficient and widely adaptable content processing and analysis systems.
- Establish a pre-training model evaluation system and data system with Internationalization short video scene characteristics to provide strong support for the long-term iteration of the model.
- Explore cutting-edge AI technologies, including but not limited to AIGC, LLM, MultiModal Machine Learning content understanding (video/image/audio/text), etc., to build the next generation of safety classifiers.Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Able to commit to working for 12-24 weeks during the Summer of 2025.
- Good understanding of algorithms.
- Passion about techniques and solving challenging problems.

- Great communication and teamwork skills.
