About the Team
TikTok's Intelligent Creation Audio/Video (IC-AV) team delivers the core video production technologies across mobile platforms, enabling hundreds of millions of TikTok creators to tell their stories, express their emotions, and convey their knowledge in the format of short-form videos.

We are looking for enthusiastic mobile developers at various levels of experience to work on TikTok's core technologies of video filming and editing. The technical stack covers various camera features, nonlinear editing on mobile devices, UGC creation workflow, and a lot more. In this role, you will optimize the performance of TikTok's next-generation video technologies, collaborate with external mobile SoC/device/service partners, and deliver the best user experience on a huge variety of mobile platforms for TikTok creators around the world.

Responsibilities
1. Develop new video features including but not limited to camera operation, video recording, video editing, and video publishing to support business requirements from TikTok family of video products.
2. Profile and optimize video performance and video quality, and refine user experience in each and every possible video production workflow for TikTok family of video products
3. Follow up on TikTok customer feedback, resolve customer issues promptly and bring creativity and joy to millions of TikTok creators around the world
4. Collaborate with industrial partners to turn the latest mobile audio/video processing capabilities into the best UGC creator experience in the industryMinimum Qualifications
1. Strong computer science fundamentals in data structure & algorithms with good problem-solving skills
2. Excellent coding skills with one or more programming languages such as Java/Objective-C, C/C++ or Python.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor or above degree in Computer Science or related majors with 2 years of software-development experience.
2. Experience with iOS/Android mobile development for applications or frameworks
3. Experience and knowledge of one or more domains below:
- Camera operations such as auto exposure, autofocus, auto white balance, and HDR image/video capture
- Audio/video media processing such scaling, filtering, and compression with a media framework such as FFMpeg
- OpenGL/Metal graphics processing such as texture rendering, vertex shading and fragment shading
3. Experience with video editing and publishing operations such as cutting, filtering, transitioning, adding effects using apps such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Youtube.
4. Open minded, great communication, eager to learn and always passionate about turning cutting-edge technologies into practical use cases.
