About the Team
The TikTok Video Recommendation Global Algorithm team plays a central role in the company, responsible the personalized recommendation algorithm for Global (Non-US) users, driving critical product decisions and platform growth The team is made up of global machine learning researchers and engineers, who support and innovate in deep learning, production recommendation models ,and large models to continuously transform and enhance the TikTok user experience and content ecosystem.
The team is fast-paced, collaborative, and impact-driven. We have teams dedicated to working on core recommendations, including User Growth, Lemon8, Social, Content Ecosystem Team, In addition, we also explore Foundation Model Applications using cutting-edge technology.

We're looking for Senior Machine Learning Engineers to join the team.
By participating the General Hire , you will have the opportunity to communicate with teams in various business line and choose the team you're most interested in.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Build industry-leading recommendation system, improving user experience, content ecosystem and platform security;
- Deliver end-to-end machine learning solution to address critical product challenges;
- Own the full stack machine learning system and optimize algorithms and infrastructure to improve recommendation performance.
- Work with cross functional teams to design product strategies and build solutions to grow TikTok in global marketsMinimum Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent degree with a background in computer science, machine learning, or similar fields.
- 3+ years Experience in one or more of the following areas: applied machine learning, machine learning infrastructure, large-scale recommendation system, market-facing machine learning product;
- Proficient in C/C++, Python and have a deep understanding of data structure and algorithm design.
- Solid knowledge and experience with at least one popular deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience with development tools (e.g. Git, Docker, JIRA etc.)
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: applied machine learning, machine learning infrastructure, large-scale recommendation system, market-facing machine learning product;
- Deep knowledge and practical experience in the following fields: deep machine learning models and large-scale recommendation systems.
- Hands-on experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
- Passion about techniques and solving challenging problems.
