About the Team
The success of TikTok's data business model hinges on the supply of a large volume of high quality labeled data that will grow exponentially as our business scales up. However, the current cost of data labeling is excessively high. The Data Solutions team is built to understand data strategically at scale for all Global Business Solution (GBS) business needs. Data Solutions Team uses quantitative and qualitative data to guide and uncover insights, turning our findings into real products to power exponential growth. Data Solutions Team responsibility includes infrastructure construction, recognition capabilities management, global labeling delivery management.

We are seeking a Data Scientist with experience in the game/gamification industry or a strong passion for games. This role requires a visionary ideator who can utilize gamification to significantly enhance user engagement on our labeling platform.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and Design Gamified Labeling Platform:
- Shape engagement between labellers and the business by leveraging gaming/gamification experience to build an engaging platform that will enhance user motivation and productivity.
- Use predictive models to identify designs and features that will motivate and incentivize users.

2. Experimental Design:
- Systematically plan experiments, ensuring that data collected can be analyzed to draw valid and objective conclusions.
- Utilize A/B testing and other experimental methods to evaluate the impact of gamification features.

3. Engagement Metrics:
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of KPIs related to user engagement and gamification efficacy, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Observe user behavior data and iterate on gamification features based on analyzed insights to enhance engagement.

4. Optimization:
- Exercise end-to-end ownership to propose, implement, and optimize new features aimed at increasing user engagement. Oversee the entire process from conceptualization to full rollout.
- Continuously observe and iterate on gamification strategies using data-driven insights, leading adjustments and optimizations based on observed impacts.

5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to ensure the seamless integration of gamification features.Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field;
2. Proven experience in data science roles within the gaming or gamification industry;
3. Experience with experimental design, including A/B testing and other statistical methods;
4. Proficiency in statistical programming languages (Python, R) and SQL.

Preferred Qualification
1. Familiarity with data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Databricks);
2. Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights;
3. Understanding of game mechanics and user engagement metrics.
