About the team The USDS Business Analytics and User Research team at TikTok is dedicated to understanding the diverse needs and behaviors of users and creators across the globe. By leveraging deep insights and data-driven strategies, we support multiple business lines, enhancing user experiences and driving sustainable growth. Our team is composed of passionate researchers who tackle complex challenges to inform product design and strategy across several product pillars. We strive to be the most trusted partner to our business teams, providing valuable insights that empower product and design teams to innovate and succeed. In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time. Responsibilities: - Partner with the User Research team and cross-functional teams to provide analytical support, including survey data analysis and building user cohorts through SQL queries. - Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify key trends, patterns, and insights. - Develop and maintain interactive self-service dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for various stakeholders. - Perform data processing tasks, including cleaning, transformation, and integration of data from multiple sources. - Create cross-tab reports and perform ad-hoc analysis as needed. - Write and maintain scripts in programming languages like Python or R for data analysis, automation, and reporting. - Support the development and implementation of best practices for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline. - Expert-level proficiency in SQL. - Proficiency in scripted statistical software (e.g., Python, or R) for quantitative (e.g., survey - multiple choice - data) and qualitative (open-ended - text response - survey data) analysis. - 5+ years of experience in data analysis or a related role. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. - Experience with data processing tools and techniques, including ETL processes. - Experience in generating cross-tab reports and performing advanced data analysis. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. - Knowledge of inferential statistics (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA, regression) and advanced multivariate techniques (e.g., Relative Weight Analysis, factor analysis). - Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner. Preferred Qualifications - Proficiency in Mandarin to support collaboration with global teams. - Strong understanding of user-research, and experience partnering with user researchers, product managers, designers, and engineers. - Familiarity with the social media industry or content creation platforms.
