Jr Quality Engineer (Manual & Automation)

Paraguay (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office)

We are looking for a Quality Engineer (Manual & Automation) who wants to be part of Tieto Tech Consulting. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with product, engineering, and design teams, ensuring high quality, reliability, and scalability of backend services in a modern cloud-based environment.

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer with experience in both manual testing and test automation to join one of our cross-functional development teams. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring software quality throughout the entire testing lifecycle while also contributing to the development and maintenance of automated test suites.

You'll work closely with developers, product owners, and other Quality Engineers in an Agile (Scrum) environment to deliver reliable, high-quality software. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their QE career who wants to continue growing their automation skills while building a strong foundation in quality engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute the full manual testing lifecycle, including test planning, test case creation, execution, defect reporting, and regression testing
• Perform functional, exploratory, integration, and regression testing of web applications
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and define effective testing strategies
• Validate API functionality and verify application behavior across different scenarios
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and AI-assisted productivity tools

Qualification

• 1–2 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing
• Experience performing end-to-end manual testing throughout the software development lifecycle
• Experience with Playwright and TypeScript for test automation
• Understanding of web application testing methodologies and Agile development practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
• Excellent spoken and written English

Advantage 

• Experience working in the banking or financial services domain
• SQL skills and experience validating data quality
• Experience using AI tools to improve Quality Engineering productivity (e.g., test case generation, debugging, automation development, or documentation)
• ISTQB Foundation or other relevant QA certifications
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
