Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.

The Role

We have an opening for an entry-level Electrical Engineer in our Fort Lauderdale office. This position focuses primarily on the investigation, troubleshooting, and analysis of electrical systems and the clear and concise explanation of our findings to our clients. You will have the opporutnity to learn from and support senior engineers, so a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles is required as is the desire and ability to learn more. We are seeking a candidate who can manage schedule expectations, has the desire to learn every day, and who is eager to become part of an exceptional team. A writing sample may be required during the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering team with field investigations, analysis, design, production of contract documents, and construction administration services

  • Assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations related to insurance claims

  • Perform required field surveys, calculations, design, and equipment selections

  • Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications

  • Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations

  • Interface and coordinate with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Clients, Attorneys, and other experts

  • Assist with the organization and preparation of construction drawings and specifications

  • Review and research applicable building codes

Requirements

  • Strong writing, verbal communication, and analytical skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • E.I.T. certification preferred

  • Interest in electrical investigation/design of buildings and industrial systems, as well as interest in litigation support and insurance claims evaluations

  • Proficient in both manual and software-assisted calculations

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/Microstation is a plus

  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally
