Senior Product Security Engineer

Location: Switzerland, Zug, Zug

Remote Type: Hybrid

Time Type: Full time

Job Description

As a Senior Product Security Engineer, you will join our team of talented professionals dedicated to embedding continuous and seamless security into our engineering processes. You will contribute to the development and implementation of our Secure Software Development Lifecycle (S-SDLC), working across multiple technical teams to enhance our security posture.

About the role:

In this role, you will promote secure-by-design architectures and implementations across all phases of our S-SDLC for our products and platforms.

There are many ways to achieve this, but it usually starts by defining what strong security looks like  reviewing the state of the art and industry best practices, and translating them into security requirements, practical guidance, and processes with built-in governance and measurable outcomes.

You will also work with your peers to deliver security at scale through tooling, agentic systems, data pipelines and automation to accelerate the identification and remediation of risk while reducing noise and friction for engineers. Because broad, scaled approaches do not always address the specific needs of product teams, you will also partner directly with specific product groups as their trusted security advisor.

You will support threat modeling sessions and secure code reviews to identify risk and provide actionable feedback. This includes securing our AI-based systems and products, an area where the threat landscape is evolving quickly and your input will directly shape how we respond. Over time, you will build strong relationships with your assigned product groups while also collaborating across software engineering, platform engineering, QA, and operations.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping ensure our products and applications meet the highest security standards to protect our customers.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering or application security.

  • Passionate about information security with a curious and open mind, willing to understand problems and translate ideas into solutions.

  • Proven analytical skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex security challenges using defensive, offensive, and builder mindsets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex security concepts to diverse and cross-functional audiences.

  • Bias towards sharing knowledge and learnings with individuals, a team or a broader community.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of core security principles (cryptography, authentication, authorization, cloud, network, etc.).

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate common security vulnerabilities in web applications, APIs, cloud environments, and AI systems  at both design and implementation levels.

  • Experience conducting security-focused threat modeling and code reviews across multiple technology stacks and programming languages.

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles with experience designing, implementing and deploying secure systems, aligned with secure by design and secure by default principles.

  • Experience using and interpreting the output of software security tools (SAST, SCA, DAST;fuzzers a plus).

  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP).

  • Understanding of containerization (Docker) and container platforms (Kubernetes).

  • Proficiency in writing code, tests, deployment logic, and API integrations. Any programming language welcomed.
