What to expect as a Software Engineer Intern at Tombras:

Commitment to a 12 week, paid internship, $18 an hour starting on 2/4/25 and ending on 4/25/25 with a maximum of 25 hours per week. 

What you’ll be doing:Partner UX design, architecture and back-end API teams to create world-class experiences using Agile development methodologiesCollaborate with other developers on solutionsEnforce secure coding standards through peer code reviews and automated testingEffectively communicate technical solutions and recommendations to senior engineers.


What you bring:

  • Candidates should have prior work or life experience in a relevant field, be currently enrolled as a Senior in a Bachelor’s program, or a recent graduate with a major in Media, Marketing, Advertising, or similar field (a degree is not required) 
  • Experience with browser-based technology, user interface development, responsive web design and engineering cross-browser, cross-device compliant codeExperience with HTML5 and web template engines like Markdown, Handlebars, JSX, Jade
  • Experience with CSS3 and CSS Preprocessors like SASS, LESS
  • Experience with JavaScript/ES6/Typescript
  • Ability to exchange constructive and respectful feedback

  • Nice to have:Experience with creating highly-performant, optimized websitesExperience with React and other JavaScript frameworksExperience with version control (Git/Bitbucket/GitLab) and branching strategiesExperience with command-line utilities, build tools like Webpack, Grunt, GulpExperience with server-side JavaScript development like NodeJS, Express, Hapi, etc.Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks like Mocha, Jasmine, Jest, etc.Experience with consuming REST API using asynchronous methodsExperience with 508 Compliance/Web AccessibilityDeep experience in defect analysis and resolutionMust have the ability to work in a team within an Agile operating model
