Core Responsibilities 

We are part way through a significant transformation which requires many different business units to better understand each other and collaborate deeply together. This new role as Knowledge Management Lead will: 

  • Document - Set the “writing” standard for multiple content types and editorial stance for how information is effectively captured, visualized and shared between subject areas. 

  • Translate across our highly diverse teams with deep expertise in their respective subject areas and their unique technical vocabularies, learning styles and preferences – breaking down silos. 

  • Curate - Ensure easy and quick access for users seeking both self-serve education and ongoing reference. 

  • Educate – Own the key Learning & Development journeys so the knowledge base caters to staff with many different needs. This could be onboarding new joiners, overviews for busy executives, sample code for software engineers or design guidelines for creatives. You will also coach key contributors to make them more effective communicators. 

  • Network – Bring people together to debate, discuss and learn from each other, and socializing the Knowledge Base to boost its impact. You will build a vibrant community who feel a strong sense of co-ownership and motivation to engage and contribute.

You will make a positive difference as you ensure that information flows freely, and by that empowering our teams to act quickly and make the wisest decisions with confidence! 

 

Do you have what it takes? 

  • Formal qualifications in a relevant domain e.g. knowledge management, information technology, business studies are an advantage, along with solid professional experience on complex, information heavy projects. A background in technical writing, journalism e.g. will also be relevant

  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills in English, and great skills for understanding specialist language and converting it into materials accessible to non-technical colleagues 

  • Proven experience delivering and/or maintaining sophisticated knowledge bases in a corporate environment across functional areas 

  • Deep technical understanding of common information sharing IT platforms, e.g. Confluence, SharePoint, or similar 

  • Experience delivering training programs and events management 

  • Great informal leadership skills for leading internal and external partners and acting as a positive relationship builder 

  • Navigate safely in complexity brought by scale, demonstrating the confidence to build strong bridges between business functions
