GNC Software Engineer

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented GNC Engineer to contribute to the GNC subsystem design, testing, verification and validation of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a GNC-SW Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include to (or as a core member of the GNC team, your duties will include):

• Define, control and implement the interfaces between GNC and Flight Software

• Implement the GNC Software into the Flight Software

• Implement and maintain Continuous Integration workflows focus on the continuous development and verification of the GNC Software

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of The Exploration Company flight dynamics simulator

• Participate in the design and implementation of the AOCS/GNC subsystem of The Exploration Company’ spacecraft

• Develop high fidelity 6 degrees of freedom models and simulations to analyze the system performance

• Design, synthesis, test, implementation, verification, and validation of GNC algorithms

• Perform design, optimization, and dispersion analysis

• AOCS/GNC hardware modeling and simulation

• Reporting of test results and analysis, with a focus on efficiency and automation of documentation

What we would love to see from you

In the role of GNC Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

• MSc. in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. A higher degree is considered advantageous. Alternatively, five years of professional work in a related area

• Professional experience in C++ is an asset

• Strong background in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python

• Proven experience in developing and implementing simulation platforms for aerospace or similar complex systems

• Strong understanding of classical dynamics, orbital and flight mechanics, modelling and simulation, and software development

• Passion for advancing the commercial space industry

• Highly motivated to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up environment

• Fluent in English. German or French is an asset
