YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

As Bayer Crop Science's Digital Farming arm, we deliver sustainable digital solutions using the latest agronomic science, data science, engineering, and real-world farming experience. With groundbreaking technologies like Climate FieldView and our ForGround regenerative agriculture platform, our team is a part of some of the most important advancements in agriculture.  

Digital Farming is looking for talented and motivated Computer Science or Engineering students with solid Computer Science and Programming fundamentals for several of our engineering teams.  As a Product Security intern, you will be involved with driving the integration of security controls into Climate’s applications and cloud services platform by applying your security and software engineering skills while learning a variety of software engineering, security technologies, and product security assessment techniques. Our interns focus on interesting product security projects they choose and we design to maximize the value to intern and company. 

Contribute and collaborate with other Information Security team members across the broad spectrum of information security programs, such as Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Incident Response, Cloud Security, Identity and Access, Governance, and Compliance. 

• Act as a member of the Product Security team on a prioritized project within the strategy of the Security Engineering team 

• Work to automate security controls to reduce our attack surface, proactively seek out vulnerabilities, and decrease response and recovery times 

• Optimize security tool deployments and help introduce scalable processes across IT and Security Engineering capabilities 

• Collaborate with product, design, data analytics, and engineering to understand the requirements that leverage the next generation of industry-leading data analytics technologies 

• Work across teams with engineers to provide tools that will enable them to confidently create simple and secure solutions to complex problems 

• Discuss security topics with technical and non-technical people 

• Present your project to the full Engineering teeam at the end of your internship 

WHO YOU ARE  

Required qualifications  

• Enrolled in a degreed program in a technical or STEM related field during the duration of the internship program  

• Knowledge of a programming or scripting language 

• Knowledge of software engineering or server-side Internet technologies 

• Basic security experience or knowledge in 1 domain, and an understanding in at least 1 other 

Preferred qualifications  

• Interest or experience in security engineering and technical security program  

• Internship or personal project experience solving real-life problems  

• Intellectual drive to learn anything 

• Great debugging and reasoning skills

• Salary estimated range between $30-$50/hour, depending on degree level and the hiring location.
