Are you passionate about coding, problem-solving, and creating impactful software applications?

Technology Services is hiring Software Application Developer I to play a key role in support Texas A&M University. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn, collaborate and contribute to projects within the university environment.

In this role you will collaborate with our end users – from concept to application – on a variety of vendor and in-house applications. The development environment is dynamic and includes Windows, Linux, and Cloud (AWS and Azure) for Mobile, Web and Desktop.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll do:  

  • Design, develop, modify, and enhance custom software applications and databases.

  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data from application databases.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and debugging code.

  • Correct errors in software applications.

  • Accompany a team lead to consult with customers.

  • Provide technical guidance, support, and/or training to users.

  • Learn new programing languages and development techniques.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience.   

Qualifications    

Software Applications Developer I:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND minimum of four months of software development service experience in a professional or college student worker environment.

  • A well-qualified candidate would possess one or more of the following: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, experience in software development, experience with customer and technology support, experience with Responsive Web Design, experience with ASP.NET, Visual Studio, C#, React, Angular, PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, Version Control, and/or other Front-End Frameworks.
