Ampersand Biomedicines’ Pilsen Team (AbCheck s.r.o), a Flagship Pioneering Company, discovers and optimizes human therapeutic antibodies with one of the industry’s most versatile technology platforms. Tailored to specific needs and desired Target Product Profiles, the experienced team leverages both cutting-edge (e.g., microfluidics, rabbit mass humanization) and state-of-the-art (e.g., phage display libraries) technologies to provide high quality leads against a range of diverse targets. 

Position Summary: 

AbCheck s.r.o. (Ampersand Biomedicines, Inc.) is looking for a highly motivated, goal-driven and collaborative Scientific Project Manager to join our Project Management team. This is a unique opportunity to help drive the development of a rapidly growing early-stage science and technology company within a well-resourced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing therapeutic antibody discovery projects (target to lead identification). Antibody discovery campaigns will utilize both our proprietary microfluidics pipeline as well as classical phage display approaches.  You will have a strong cross-functional focus working on international joint project teams, including project strategy design and execution on time and within budget. You will report to the VP Project Management and will enjoy working in a pioneering and fast-paced start-up environment. This is a full-time position based in Plzeň, Czech Republic, with the option for hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans for antibody discovery campaigns in collaboration with the scientific team, ensuring clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables
• Present project plans to senior management for approval, incorporating strategic insights
• Oversee project execution, monitoring costs and timelines to ensure successful delivery within budget and established deadlines
• Regularly review project strategies with scientific teams, analyze data, and proactively address challenges to drive projects to successful completion
• Foster communication and collaboration across functional teams, ensuring alignment across the Plzeň and Boston sites
• Serve as the primary liaison between cross-site teams, facilitating knowledge sharing and issue resolution
• Prepare impactful presentations and detailed reports to support internal and external decision-making processes
• Maintain accurate revenue records and ensure timely project invoicing to support financial accountability
• Collaborate with finance teams to contribute to financial planning and revenue forecasting strategies
• Contribute to building a positive, team-oriented culture

Key Qualifications:

• Sc. in relevant field with 3+ years in drug discovery/development
• Solid understanding of antibody discovery
• Excellent communicator with the ability to target different levels
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload
• Experienced in collaborating with international teams
• Proficiency in English. Our team is international, meetings and written documents are in English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent work experience in a life science discipline relevant for drug development
• Experience of project management in the pharmaceutical industry, and/or qualification in project management such as PMP
• Track record of managing projects in the context of corporate partnerships
• Experience with Phage Display, Yeast Display and/or microfluidics
