The Role:
Lila Sciences is seeking a strategic and operationally astute Chief of Staff to support our Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This key role requires a background in AI/ML technologies and involves partnering with the CTO to drive strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnering: Collaborate closely with the CTO to plan and execute strategic initiatives that align with Lila Sciences’ objectives, ensuring technology strategies support the company's growth and innovation goals.
- Operational Coordination: Enhance operational efficiencies by implementing and refining processes that support the technology function, including project management across various stakeholders.
- Project Oversight: Provide oversight and support for major technical projects, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated, timelines are met, and roadblocks are addressed.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Foster communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical teams, aiding in the integration of AI/ML initiatives across different business units.
- Executive Reporting: Develop comprehensive reports and presentations for executive leadership, synthesizing technical project updates into information that supports strategic decision-making.
- Innovation Monitoring: Keep the CTO informed of emerging technology trends and competitive landscape changes, suggesting strategic pivots or investments as necessary.
- Talent and Culture Development: Work with HR and technology leaders to cultivate a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence, ensuring talent development aligns with strategic goals.
- Event Planning and Facilitation: Organize and manage key meetings and offsite events, such as technical planning sessions, to ensure clear, actionable outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a solid understanding of AI/ML technologies and their business applications.
- Proven experience in a strategic leadership or project management role within a tech-focused organization.
- Familiarity with AI/ML application lifecycles, including deployment and integration, to effectively support strategic tech initiatives.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a capacity to translate technical and strategic concepts into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with senior leadership and diverse teams.
- Experience in the technology sector is desirable, with insights into how technological advancements can drive business value.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strategic thinker with a balance of operational acumen and technical understanding, capable of driving innovation while optimizing processes.
- An effective collaborator who can build strong cross-functional relationships and lead teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Possesses proficiency in utilizing data and analytics for strategic planning and decision-making.
