Optimizing automotive systems is critical to making electric vehicles accessible to a broader audience. As a SQL Database Optimization Engineer in our Electric Motor design and optimization group based in South EU, you will play a key role in advancing the efficiency of our powertrain systems. In this position, you will optimize our large-scale SQL database to ensure quick, data-driven decisions in motor and powertrain development. You will also further optimize an advanced job scheduling framework centered around an SQL database. You may also develop and optimize tools that enhance the team’s core operations while analyzing extensive simulation data.
- Provide technical leadership in database design and maintaining, ensuring the integrity, reliability & ease/speed of access of data
- Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and performance tuning to improve data retrieval, processing speed, and overall system efficiency
- Collaborate with motor designers, test engineers, and software developers to translate powertrain design requirements into data-driven tools
- Refine and scale motor selection procedures, leveraging big-data trends to identify optimum powertrain configurations
- Studies in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, and managing large datasets
- Experience with database performance tuning, including analyzing execution plans, query optimization, indexing strategies, stored procedures and partitioning
- Solid understanding of SQL database architecture, normalization, and performance optimization
- Very strong skills in MATLAB
- Demonstrated interest in software design and data-driven decision-making in the technical field
- Excellent communication skills: accurate, methodic, succinct, to the point
- Ability to work in a multinational and cultural environment
- Fluent in English
