Junior Project Manager, Energy Products

Tesla’s Energy organization is looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead the onsite execution of Tesla BESS projects for Japan. The key of this role is to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements during industrial BESS site deployment, and the role will work with Sr. Project Manager closely to achieve the ambitious deployment target of industrial BESS in Japan and further to meet Tesla’s mission: accelerating the world transition to sustainable energy.

The Project  Manager must exhibit strong communication, planning, and coordination skills with a diverse set of project stakeholders (site craft workers, site managers, owner’s representatives, utilities, vendors, environmental & engineering consultants, Tesla team members, and a variety of internal Tesla groups) and strike a balance between Tesla’s and Customer’s desired outcomes and priorities by flexibility, nimbleness, and perseverance. The main duties of this role will be optimizing and monitoring the installations of Tesla Megapack (Industrial BESS), supporting site construction and completing site commissioning. Success will require knowledge and experience in project management, general construction methods, electrical (LV, MV, & HV) construction methods, and familiarity of electrical systems commissioning. 

• Oversee project construction and ensure customers/ vendors comply with Tesla guidelines

• Work with Project Engineer and Sr. Project Manager to complete BESS site commissioning and smoothly handover to Field Service

• Being an interface with customers and various project stakeholders under project construction phase

• Work with Business Development Manager, Sales Engineer, Project Engineer and Sr. Project Manager on reviewing pre-construction planning

• Coordinate product delivery to site by collaborating with Business Operations
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and reporting of all incidents per developed EHS SOP’s.
• Identify challenges affecting feasibility and timeline for commissioning and provide creative and resourceful solutions to cope with
• Ensure project documentation is current and preserved in the assigned document repositories

• BS degree or above in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent technical background
• Experience in Industrial or utility scale power generation and construction is desirable
• 3+ relevant infrastructure program/ project management experience
• Comfort and experience working in highly dynamic and changing environment.
• Ability to identify potential problems and resolve timely
• Ability to work on-site regularly Proficiency in both technical and commercial communications
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
• Strong team player with positive energy; Willing to learn, passion and humble
