Energy Service Engineering builds tools and data infrastructure to support Tesla’s Energy products, ensuring that problems are diagnosed accurately, reliably, and as quickly as possible. Most importantly, we assimilate feedback promptly, enabling Tesla to continuously improve our diagnostic capabilities and our ability to provide prompt support for our portfolio of Energy products.
Our vision is to have a diagnostic strategy and software that ensures field service technicians visit sites for part replacements and repairs -- not perform complex troubleshooting or diagnostics. Achieving this goal will require that we synthesize inputs and talent across data, hardware and software engineering disciplines.
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer in Service Engineering, you will be responsible for specifying, building, and maintaining the next generation of diagnostic tools to support our world-class Energy Products, including Megapacks, Superchargers and Powerwalls.
- Develop tools and utilities to support the diagnostic process, helping us close the loop between product engineers and field technicians to support rapid problem solving and a superior customer experience
- Write new React components in support of new features for our web-based diagnostic platform, to streamline and enhance the user experience and usability
- Debug issues in production, to root cause and apply fixes in timely manner
- Participate in architectural improvements to support our growing user base,
- Think creatively about data structures and data modeling to navigate a complex genealogy of parts and products
- Improve reliability, scalability and performance of Tesla’s diagnostic platform
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Strong working knowledge of React.js and Typescript
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Curiosity and willingness to ask questions, meet with your users and learn new things
- Familiarity in building highly scalable architectures
- Bonus points for Python or Go development experience

$111,200 - $246,720/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
