Datacenter Liquid Cooling Architect

As a Datacenter Liquid Cooling Architect, you will define, design, and architect next-generation liquid cooling infrastructure for Tenstorrent’s large-scale AI training and inference clusters. You will partner with systems engineering, mechanical engineering, software, and cross-functional design teams to develop chassis-, rack-, and cluster-scale cooling solutions, including CDU integration, telemetry and control, leak detection, and resilient operating strategies. This role will help shape reliable AI datacenter architectures and deployments for both internal and external customers.

This role is on-site, based out of Toronto, Canada, Austin, Texas or Santa Clara, California.

Who You Are

• A datacenter and system thermal design professional with 10+ years of experience architecting cooling infrastructure for complex computing environments.
• An experienced liquid cooling architect who can design chassis- and rack-scale solutions for large AI training and inference clusters.
• A systems thinker who understands how mechanical, electrical, software, facility, and systems engineering decisions come together in mission-critical datacenter environments.
• A hands-on problem solver with experience in fluid compatibility, pressure testing, leak detection, sensor integration, and cooling-system controls.
• A collaborative technical leader who can work effectively with cross-functional teams and internal and external customers.

What We Need

• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE thermal guidelines, liquid-cooled IT environments, facility HVAC integration, and industry best practices for datacenter cooling.
• Proven experience designing and operating single-phase liquid cooling systems, including fluid selection, glycol-water mixtures, dielectric fluids, corrosion inhibitors, material compatibility, and dry-break couplings.
• Expertise in pressure-testing protocols, including proof testing, burst testing, and leak testing, as well as leak detection, mitigation, filtration, redundancy, and resilient cooling architectures.
• Practical experience integrating flow, temperature, and pressure sensors with monitoring and control systems, including defining operational rules and failure-response procedures for commercial CDUs. Experience with pumped two-phase liquid cooling is a plus.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
