We are currently expanding our team and looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for developing and improving innovative mechanical components for our products, as well as designing testing equipment.

Teltonika’s telematics business unit develops and produces easy-to-use GPS tracking devices for effective fleet management in logistics, agriculture, car sharing, construction, and more. Using the latest technologies, Teltonika sets new standards for the telematics industry.

In this role, you will:

• Translating product ideas and requirements into specific mechanical solutions, by defining mechanical architecture, developing concepts, evaluating alternatives, and selecting the most optimal solution.
• Finding engineering solutions and improving products by evaluating different technical solutions, designs, materials, and manufacturing methods. Identifying the most suitable solutions for new and existing products.
• Designing plastic, rubber, and metal components and adapting them for mass production and automated assembly on robotic production lines.
• Testing products and their components by evaluating mechanical and temperature resistance, sealing performance, and other functional properties, as well as improving testing methods.
• Developing (designing, manufacturing and testing) functional prototypes using 3D printing, milling, and other manufacturing methods, followed by assembly, testing, and evaluation of the results.
• Designing automated test stands and supporting equipment to ensure efficient and reliable product testing.
• Improving engineering processes and team practices through identifying problems and inefficiencies, initiating enhancements, and implementing new working methods, standards, and solutions.

What we expect of you:

• Proven experience in developing and improving products for end customers.
• Strong skills in creating 3D models, complex assemblies, and mechanical solutions using SolidWorks or another CAD software.
• Experience in designing for injection molding, expertly adapting mechanical designs and selecting materials to achieve optimal product quality and functionality.
• A deep understanding of mass production requirements, with a strong focus on design for manufacturability, assembly, and testing.
• Strong 2D technical drawing and GD&T skills - ability to properly define dimensions, tolerances, and other technical requirements needed for manufacturing and assembly.
• Strong understanding of material properties and the ability to select optimal materials based on product functionality, reliability, and manufacturing technology, operating conditions, and environmental requirements.
• Ability to identify areas for improvement, initiate and implement changes, look for innovative and reliable solutions, and contribute to improving team practices and processes.
• Strong sense of ownership, analytical thinking and engineering curiosity.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience with automated manufacturing, assembly, or testing processes and an understanding of how mechanical design can be optimized for automation.
• Experience developing test equipment and product testing solutions.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and mechanical manufacturing technologies (3D printing, CNC milling, etc).
• Experience with advanced product testing and validation, including mechanical, environmental, temperature, vibration, sealing, or durability testing.

Salary:

We appreciate everyone's efforts and experiences, so we offer an attractive salary matching your skillset and field expertise. The salary for this position ranges from 16 Eur/h up to 35 Eur/h (~2669 Eur - 5839 Eur) pre-tax, depending on your experience and expertise, with the option to get bonuses.

*In an employment agreement, we specify and define a fixed (tariff) hourly salary rate before taxes.
