Focus of the Role:
This role develops the strategy, asset and associated investment plans, process and procedures to manage Telstra Limited’s Network Facilities assets.  Telstra Ltd Network Facilities encompass a wide range of assets including mobile huts, LPGS Remote Housings, regional and rural exchange equipment and the network facilities they serve – predominately HVAC and power related. 

Senior Technical Network Facilities Lead ensures that the provided assets are reliable, safe, fit for purpose use. As a Senior Technical Network Facilities Lead you are responsible for ensuring the assets are built, operated and maintained to meet regulatory standards and ensure they are fit for purpose, while also meeting regulatory and compliance obligations through planned maintenance programs and development of Asset Management Plans.

What you'll do

As Senior Network Facilities Lead you will provide leadership in a virtual flow to work team to achieve:

  • Applying very well-developed critical thinking, analysis and modelling skills, including cost modelling and options analysis to assess complex issues and create solutions that meet the immediate business requirements, and cost effectively “engineer in” quality, resiliency, flexibility to adapt to future change, ease of maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, establish and implement processes related to the Network Facilities portfolio
  • Develop and implement asset management plans for Telstra Ltd’s network facilities assets
  • Develop and maintain Strategic Asset Management Plan to optimise portfolio, ensuring best value for re-active tasking and input into pro-active investment program
  •  Develop and maintain Guidelines related to Operation, Inspection and Maintenance of Telstra Ltd Network Facilities
  • Provide advice to Telstra Ltd teams with respect to operations and maintenance, in particular providing SME input into NIFM Reactive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and case management
  • Establish and implement Essential Safety Maintenance plans
  • Establish and implement Telstra Ltd Preventative Maintenance programs, optimising cost and within budget
  • Contribute to training and auditing for the integrity of these assets
  • Work with the team to develop and facilitate delivery of the NIFM program and its underlying regulatory and business drivers
  • Engage and collaborate with relevant key stakeholders and working groups that span across the organisation
  • Provide communications support to internal enquiry mailboxes
  • Flow to other work tasks within the Telstra Ltd. Passive Infrastructure team as reasonably required.
     

To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:

  • Have well developed technical skills which could be gained through tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical engineering with approximately 5+ years in infrastructure operations and maintenance activities.
  • Have proven and thorough experience in the management of complex stakeholder issues at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence the decision-making process and achieve required outcomes.
  • Proven experience in managing a large fleet of diverse network assets
  • A self-starter, with a sound ability to prioritise your own workload and utilise escalation paths when needed.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of Australian asset principles, particularly in relation to standards, regulations, and compliance, is essential.
  • A comprehensive grasp of base station design and engineering is required.
  • This role demands an expert who can immediately contribute to the team and projects.
