 Focus of the Role

Software Engineering Specialist, your role centres on collaborating with your team to deliver Software Engineering products and solutions that delight our customers. You play a key role in helping to understand customer requirements and transform epics into new product and capability features. Your teamwork and collaboration skills, continuous learning and improvement mindset, and ability to adapt to feedback are critical to success in this role, as you develop your knowledge and experience in the Software Engineering Domain.

  • The role will be responsible in the end-to-end development, coding, up to but not limited to unit testing, of the Salesforce CRM tool, Agent Console. Will be developing for different missions.

What you'll do

Salesforce Developer will contribute to solutions that span across multiple Salesforce Clouds (Sales, Service, Marketing, Analytics, Social, Communities) and include integration and authentication across systems.

This individual will apply proven industry and technology experience as well as communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to issues related to design, development, and deployment of mission-critical CRM systems with a focus on quality application development and delivery.

Job Location – Bangalore

Key Responsibilities.

This role is key to the success of the Customer Marketing and Sales function at Telstra and will be responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills needed to support enterprise high availability Salesforce applications.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications in Salesforce, following best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and implement new features and enhancements.

  • Collaborate effectively with your team to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost, and quality standards.

  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize application performance to ensure scalability and responsiveness.

  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

  • Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and ensure code quality.

  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical expertise and sharing best practices.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Node.js development.

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and maintain applications in production environments.

  • Continuously improve development processes and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.

  • Be an active participant of team as DevOps with full accountability of CI/CD, test automation, support, and monitoring functions within a team.

  • Complying with all relevant processes and standards, including change management principles and processes to ensure deliverables meet or exceed defined quality standards.

  • Perform stakeholder management functions, working with multiple business units.

  • Proactively identifies problems in our product or platform. Improves areas of the code they work on. Leaves things better than they found them.

  • Understand the points of integration between the different systems and highlight the potential risks associated with the delivery of solutions.

  • Support your team to develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, leveraging set processes to reduce the time between commission and production.

  • Apply a continuous learning and development mindset to your work, using tried and tested methodologies but also finding opportunities to experiment to incrementally improve or resolve challenges.

  • As a DevOps engineer provide release support and production support.

  • Take ownership of your own actions and seek guidance from more experienced engineers to support your development and contribute to the delivery of team/mission outcomes.

  • If project requires, candidates should be ready to work in shifts.

  • should always be flexible to be assigned in an on-call support, on a roster basis.

Who we're looking for.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Salesforce developer, or similar roles

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree or Equivalent IT qualifications in Software or Systems Engineering.

  • Hand on experience in Apex, Java, C#, RDBMS

  • Experience in building applications on force.com platform

  • Expertise in Salesforce technology including:

  • Full cycle implementation experience with SFDC (application design, architecture and development using Salesforce.com)

  • Strong Development knowledge on using LWC, Lightning Aura, VF pages and APEX.

  • Strong SFDC knowledge and Integration components for SFDC (SFDC APIs, Apex controllers, Apex Web Services, Apex callout, outbound messaging, SFDC data loaders, etc.)

  • Strong technical foundation including - Advanced structured programming - APEX, Force.com, .Net, Java, etc., understanding of RDMS concepts and structures, knowledge of SQL, structured system analysis and design methods, etc.

  • Good knowledge of SFDX.

  • Good knowledge of version control systems such as GIT and knowledge on GIT branching, Pull Requests is crucial.

  • Good understanding and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Eg: Jenkins, Bamboo) is required.

  • Salesforce Certifications essential.

  • Deep understand and experience in developing Salesforce and building on force.com.

  • Understanding of all cloud offerings in the market and ability to discuss cloud architectures.

  • A good understanding of the security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier, multi-tenant web applications.

  • Development experience of Web Services is desirable.

  • Extensive experience in developing & configuration SFDC Apex classes, Visualforce pages, workflows, Lightning components and LWC.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of XML, JSON and other data interchange formats is desirable.

  • Knowledge of Java , HTML5 , JQuery and other web technologies is desirable.

  • Strong development (coding), debugging, tuning skills.

  • Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills.
