Focus of the Role
As a Data Specialist you will have a critical role in the development and enhancement of a coherent and effective set of solutions and applications within your domain focus area that deliver a great customer experience. You also lead the development of a longer-term cloud-based architecture roadmaps and business solutions in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders that deliver technical and commercial competitive advantage.

What You’ll Do

Product & Technology - Data & AI team develops and deploys bespoke data-driven solutions, improving Telstra's business and customer experience.

• Develop and maintain technology solutions to facilitate the development of logical data models and its implementation in various data platforms.

• Be responsible for implementation and coordination of logical data governance, architecture, quality, and certification to ensure data is discoverable, understandable and trusted.

• Ability to instil confidence in the business and demonstrate the business value of data and digitization.

• Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.

• In-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and machine learning and how the industry are utilizing them.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve the quality of platform data and its management.

• Identify efficiencies to improve our data modelling and management

• Manage your own workload of deliverables and communications

• Contribute to the Data and technology architecture across all products, technologies and services.

About You

At least 6+ years of experience in the following:
• Programming language, database skills and support experience relevant to Azure cloud (SQL ,Data lake, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics)
• Experience in Data Cube development, Complex Data Handling
•Strong experience in Data Ingestion from various Source systems using Azure Services
•Demonstrated ability to solution data and analytics frameworks, products and services visualise data using Power BI from sources across the organisation.
•Deep understanding and experience of Enterprise modern data architecture patterns and processes
•A proven track record in delivering data-oriented solutions utilising big data, data warehousing, operational insight, data management or business intelligence.
•Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain systems & business.
•Design and develop large data lake and data warehouses across multiple domains
•Knowledge of Design Thinking, Agile and DevOps methods.
•Certification Preferred: Minimum Associate level in Azure
