As a Solutions Engineer, you will help the sales team drive revenue growth by evangelizing our technology via demos and technical discussions. You will get to collaborate with infrastructure engineering and security teams at the most sophisticated technology companies in the world. Most importantly, you will help these companies solve problems and get exposed to the latest ideas in technology.
We are looking for a customer-facing Solutions Engineer who has experience working with open source technology and familiarity with traditional infrastructure networking and security and modern cloud-native technologies (Linux, Docker).

What You'll Do:
- Is energized by technology and will work closely with our sales reps and founders to address business challenges.
- Listens deeply and perceives feedback as an opportunity to improve.
- Demonstrates a high level of empathy, resilience, and humility.
- Works well with Account Executives on delivering demonstrations and engaging with customers through their evaluation of Teleport.
- Is a self-starter with a track record of success in their professional or personal life.
- Doesn’t mind helping across various go-to-market activities, including marketing collateral, product positioning, customer interviews, sales cycle optimizations, traveling to conferences, brand evangelism, attending meetups, etc.
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years of solutions/sales engineering, DevOps engineer, and/or software engineer at SAAS, Open Source or Enterprise Software company.
- Experience with using/configuring/debugging Linux machines and Network issues.
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Strong Knowledge of at least one cloud computing platform
- Proven ability to develop scripts and automation using Linux Shell, Go, and Infrastructure as Code
- Strong understanding of system architecture, provisioning, and administration
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and configuration management systems
- Experience with traditional developer toolsets and practices (e.g., source control, code reviews, unit testing, agile principles)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Nice to Have:
- Strong listening and storytelling skills.
- Familiarity with authentication/authorization protocols and frameworks such as OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, and SAML
- Familiarity with networks (IP addressing, routing, etc.)
- Experience with Docker.
