A DAY IN A LIFE

At Teleport, we’re building toward IPO — and that means doing the boring things well. Execution, discipline, and follow-through matter as much as big ideas.

Your day will be varied, often crossing functions, but most of your time will focus on delivering results, owning your scope end-to-end, making fast, data-informed decisions, and following through on fundamentals like reporting, documentation, and processes.

How we work matters as much as what we achieve. Doing the basics right, every time, sets us up for success. 

Most of your time will be spent driving impact through:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, BigQuery datasets, SQL transformations, and scheduled workflows that power Teleport's AI and Machine Learning products.
• Building, deploying, and optimizing Machine Learning models and Applied AI solutions, while collaborating with senior engineers to productionize forecasting models, AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
• Working closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to translate business problems into reliable, production-grade AI capabilities by ensuring high-quality data, robust engineering practices, continuous model evaluation, and operational excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with 2–3 years of experience building AI, Machine Learning, or data engineering solutions in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and the Google Cloud ecosystem, including BigQuery, BigQuery Views, Scheduled Queries, and exposure to Vertex AI/Agent Platform, Gemini APIs, Cloud Run, or similar cloud-native AI platforms.
• Practical experience developing Machine Learning models, feature engineering, data transformation pipelines, and working with modern AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, prompt engineering, embeddings, or vector databases. Experience with Git, REST APIs, and modern software engineering best practices is highly preferred.
