Job Description

  

Job Summary:

Responsible for developing project proposals, schedule preparation, managing approved concurrent projects, defining the design of technologies to address next generation products, while also addressing the sustaining needs of current products. Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Ability to lead a project from conception through to completion in a fast paced and challenging work environment. Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to determine methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May supervise the activities of others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (other duties may be assigned):

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                  

This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical leadership to lower-level engineers including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organization’s policies and procedures.  This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                           

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Other Essential Duties

Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)

Other Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately _+/-10__%.
