Staff Platform Engineer

As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will empower Techstars’ engineering efforts to scale and help more entrepreneurs succeed than ever before as a leading accelerator and investor.

You will work in a cloud-native environment with infrastructure in code, continuous delivery, and a group of motivated, mission-driven product engineering teams. You will influence the development of quality and engineering culture via reusable patterns and frameworks. In doing all this, you will help shape the technical platforms and applications that serve thousands of entrepreneurs worldwide via services provided directly to entrepreneurs and investors and via enabling Techstars investment operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Deliver and maintain reliable, effective, shared cloud infrastructure and tools
• Collaborate with multiple development teams building a data platform, user-facing web applications, and numerous integrations in a cloud-native environment
• Provide solid frameworks and foundations for operability & observability by development teams
• Continually improve deployment, recovery, and other practices
• Contribute to organizational standards
• Use tools such as Kubernetes, AWS, Helm, OpenTofu, and others.

Required Experience:

• 8+ years of experience developing cloud-based software infrastructure and/or software (such as cloud engineering, devops, tool/platform development, etc.)
• Proven proficiency & experience with AWS & container architecture, infrastructure configuration and operation
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux server environments
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi)
• Proficiency with Javascript and/or Python and ability to automate systems and tasks

• Demonstrated ability to deliver working, reliable, high-quality tools or systems in an agile and incremental way and work in partnership with software development teams

• Demonstrated security mindset

Compensation: $155,000 - $175,000 with 10% bonus
