Role Overview: The Data Reporting Engineer will design and develop executive dashboards, operational reports, and analytics solutions for the AI Inventory CMDB project. This role focuses on transforming complex data into actionable insights through compelling visualizations and self-service reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop executive dashboards for AI inventory tracking, model lifecycle status, and CMDB health metrics using business intelligence tools.
• Build interactive reports and visualizations that provide insights into AI agent deployment, model performance, and inventory compliance.
• Create data marts and analytical datasets optimized for reporting performance and user accessibility.
• Implement role-based access controls and data security measures for sensitive reporting data.
• Develop automated report generation and distribution workflows with scheduled delivery to stakeholders.
• Design and maintain semantic layers, data models, and business logic for self-service analytics.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize query performance and implement caching strategies for high-traffic dashboards.
• Build operational monitoring dashboards for data pipeline health, CMDB data quality, and integration status.
• Create documentation for report definitions, data dictionaries, and user guides for self-service tools.
• Implement data refresh schedules and manage data warehouse/lakehouse connectivity for reporting layers.
• Conduct user training sessions and provide ongoing support for dashboard and report usage.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data reporting, business intelligence, or analytics engineering.
• Expert proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Strong SQL skills for complex analytical queries, aggregations, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing intuitive data visualizations and user-friendly dashboard interfaces.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, star schema, and dimensional modeling [3].
• Experience with data modeling tools and semantic layer development.
• Understanding of DAX, calculated fields, and advanced analytics functions in BI tools.
• Familiarity with REST APIs for embedding and automating report distribution.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy in reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple reporting projects simultaneously.
