Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate QA Automation Lead with 10+ years of overall experience in Software Quality Assurance, including 8+ years of hands-on experience in Test Automation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and developing scalable automation frameworks from scratch, leading automation teams, driving automation strategy, evaluating new tools and technologies, and leveraging AI to improve testing efficiency.
The candidate should be technically strong, possess excellent leadership skills, and have the ability to mentor team members while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the overall test automation strategy across Web, API, and Mobile applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automation frameworks from scratch.
- Evaluate and enhance existing automation frameworks to improve reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
- Lead a team of 6 or more QA Automation Engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and career development support.
- Perform Proof of Concepts (POCs) on emerging automation tools, AI solutions, and testing technologies.
- Conduct R&D activities and recommend the best automation tools and frameworks based on project requirements.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Drive API automation and Mobile automation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to improving testability of applications.
- Analyze automation execution results, troubleshoot failures, and continuously improve framework stability.
- Establish automation best practices, coding standards, and quality metrics.
- Provide regular status updates, effort estimations, and automation coverage reports to stakeholders.
Who you'll be working with
- Collaborate closely with QA, Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams.
- Work with Developers and Product Owners to improve application quality and testability.
- Partner with Engineering Leadership on automation strategy and technical decisions.
- Lead and mentor a team of 6+ QA Automation Engineers.
- Guide the team on automation frameworks, coding standards, and best practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams across Web, API, and Mobile testing.
- Collaborate on AI-driven testing and automation innovations.
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, quality, and automation efficiency.
- Participate in architecture, framework, and code review discussions.
- Communicate automation progress, quality metrics, and risks to key stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Test Automation.
- Strong experience in developing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience in designing scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation architectures.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Strong experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, or similar.
- Hands-on experience in API Automation using tools/frameworks such as Postman, Karate, Rest Assured, or equivalent.
- Experience in Mobile Test Automation using Appium or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with automation frameworks.
- Experience in version control systems such as Git and repository management.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in Retail/eCommerce domain.
- Experience with cloud-based test execution platforms.
- Exposure to performance testing tools.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Behave.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
Leadership Expectations
- Lead and mentor a team of 6+ QA Automation Engineers.
- Conduct technical reviews, code reviews, and framework design reviews.
- Coach team members on automation best practices and technical growth.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA organization.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering leadership and stakeholders.
