The Role:

We are looking for a talented Sr. PHP Developer to join our growing Tech Holding family. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a team of skilled engineers to innovate and deliver high-quality digital products that engage millions of users globally. This role is geared towards enhancing our software offerings through the design and development of new features and ensuring high performance across all platforms.

  • Develop and deploy new, well-defined features using advanced web technologies.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to create intuitive interfaces for various stakeholders including staff, clients, and end-users.
  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing cutting-edge technologies.

Detailed Job Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives)

1. Feature Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement new features in PHP that reach a vast user base, ensuring robustness, scalability, and seamless user experience.
  • Use the Laravel framework to maintain large applications and develop new functionalities

2. UI/UX Design and Development:

  • Create engaging and responsive user interfaces using VueJS, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, and Bootstrap. Consider the implementation of modern frameworks like React where beneficial.

3. Code Deployment and Review:

  • Deploy services to AWS, ensuring high availability and robustness of applications.
  • Review code contributions from other developers to maintain high standards of code quality and functionality.

4. Technology Research and Implementation:

  • Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and tools, evaluating their potential applications to enhance our product offerings.
  • Explore and potentially implement technologies such as Docker, unit testing, and various DevOps tools to improve development workflows and product quality.

What does SUCCESS look like?

  • Successful performance in the role of Developer within our Market Research and Insight department would be characterized by the effective design and deployment of robust PHP applications that enhance our ability to gather and analyze market data. The individual would consistently develop features that are both innovative and scalable, reaching millions of users and significantly enhancing user engagement. Collaboration with team members to ensure seamless and efficient application interfaces would be critical, as would the ability to research and integrate new technologies to keep our systems cutting-edge. Furthermore, successful performance would include proactive involvement in code reviews, maintaining high standards for quality and efficiency, and the adept use of modern development tools and practices, particularly in environments like AWS and using tools like Docker and VueJS. A strong performer in this role would not only meet technical expectations but also drive initiatives that support strategic business goals.

The MUST Haves: (ex: job cannot be done without these skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • At least 3 years of strong experience in designing and maintaining large applications using PHP and a major modern framework (Laravel, Symfony, Zend).
  • Minimum 2 years experience with front-end technologies including HTML5, jQuery, CSS, Bootstrap, and familiarity with modern frameworks like VueJS or React.
  • Demonstrable experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Proficiency in REST APIs, unit testing, and version control with git.
  • Competence in deploying services to AWS and using basic Linux command lines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

The Nice to Haves: (ex: preferred additional skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with DevOps tools like Docker, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Packer, Terraform, or other related technologies.
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design is preferred.
