About the team and the role:
 

TCGplayer, an eBay company, connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.

The Payments, Fees & Taxes is a newly formed team at TCGplayer. As a result of our steady growth and in order to support our future ambitions, we need to mature in this critical business area. This team will be tasked with supporting our financial operations at TCGplayer and allowing our business to scale, domestically and internationally.

What you will accomplish:

• Assist in the vetting, selection and implementation of a sales tax calculation platform that will allow us to expand into new international markets.

• Implement mission critical projects like refactoring TCGplayer’s Seller Payments & Fee Processing platforms.

• Eliminate fraudulent actors on our platform to create a more trusted marketplace for buyers and sellers.

• Incrementally migrate a monolithic codebase to a microservice based architecture to modernize our technologies and support our scaling needs.

• Implement RBAC into your solutions so that we have the internal controls necessary to support SOX compliance

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience

• 5+ years of software development experience, with C# (ASP.Net/.Net Core) 

• Experience designing and developing microservices in a cloud based architecture (preferably AWS)

• Experience with event/stream processing mechanisms, specifically Kafka, but also with AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, or AzureBus

• Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and public cloud deployment platforms  

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work independently within a geographically dispersed agile team participating in all Agile ceremonies.
   

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
