TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.

The Seller Experience Group, Online Selling Team is a dynamic team comprised of front-end, back-end, and testing automation engineers. We are dedicated to serving our online sellers by producing enterprise-grade products and features to run their business and connect with the hobbyist community. We are currently revamping our Order Management system to provide an accessible UI experience with extended capabilities and back-end scalability.

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead TCGplayer in the migration from a monolithic architecture to domain-driven microservice architecture.

  • Architect a new multi-vertical aggregate seller platform to list products, manage orders and payments across different marketplaces in a single spot.

  • Participate in the Principal’s Guild to set technical direction, design patterns, and general best practice across the Technology organization

  • Being a clear expert in multiple technical areas to support the team and organization

  • Provide support for a mission-critical applications.

  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and attention to detail during daily operations

  • Implement and maintain internal, private and public web services

  • Demonstrating ability to succeed in a wide range of complex situations across multiple axes, e.g. scale, uncertainty, interconnectedness
     

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience

  • 12 or more years of experience as a software engineer with distributed systems

  • 5+ years of C# (ASP.Net/.Net Core)

  • Significant experience in high volume production systems design with consideration for high availability, disaster recovery, performance, fault tolerance, and security 

  • Expert knowledge of RDBMS technologies (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores (Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch)

  • Expert knowledge of APM (Application Process Monitoring), particularly Scalyr/DataSet for logs and New Relic for dashboards & alerting

  • Expert knowledge of event/stream processing mechanisms, specifically Kafka, but also with AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, or AzureBus

  • Experience designing and developing microservices in an AWS cloud based architecture
