Working within the Disaster Recovery Team your mission will be to safeguard Target’s critical business and technology systems against disruptions. You will be instrumental in how we engineer and develop technology solutions that aim to automate, scale, and mature our Disaster Recovery Program at Target.

 

As a Sr. Engineer, you will:

  • Develop solutions to improve and simplify the disaster recovery planning processes.
  • Advance disaster recovery self-service strategies
  • Scale disaster recovery program activities through automation.
  • Provide general programmatic aid to teams and maintain compliance goals with the disaster recovery program policies.
  • Assist teams in creating and updating their disaster recovery plans.
  • Engage with local and global teams to help mature disaster recovery practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements of disaster recovery.
  • Review disaster recovery plans on an annual lifecycle for policy and program compliance.
  • Participate in meetings with business and technology teams, leaders, auditors, and vendors.
  • Partner with the Business Continuity and Cyber Risk teams to improve disaster recovery program outcomes.

About You: 

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning for IT systems or related activities.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, availability zones, and regions.
  • Experience with disaster recovery tools and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to accomplish objectives with hard deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare written reports, presentations, and conduct analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Remain flexible and adapt quickly to changes in business and technology priorities.
  • Willing to obtain training and maintain disaster recovery certifications.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS)) are a plus.
