The Python Architect will be responsible for defining, driving, and governing the architectural vision and technical roadmap for critical components of Bhashini 2.0 (e.g., API Marketplace backend, SEM modules, Partner Portal services). You will play a pivotal role in shaping high-level design decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of distributed systems, while enabling development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Though this role is architecture-heavy, you will remain hands-on with Python-based technologies, setting standards through prototypes, reference implementations, and technical oversight.

1. Define and own the end-to-end architecture for Python-based microservices and backend systems, ensuring alignment with Bhashini 2.0’s overall technical strategy.

2. Design scalable, maintainable, and secure system components leveraging Python (Flask/FastAPI), open-source frameworks, and modern cloud-native practices.

3. Translate business and product requirements into architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and system-level designs.

4. Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and patterns for building robust distributed systems, balancing trade-offs in scalability, performance, and cost.

5. Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and other Architects to ensure consistency, integration, and interoperability across modules.

6. Provide reference implementations, coding guidelines, and architectural guardrails to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices.

7. Conduct design reviews, system audits, and performance optimizations across services and applications.

8. Drive technical excellence in CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, and security practices.

9. Mentor engineering leads and senior developers, fostering architectural thinking and technical maturity across teams.

10. Stay updated on emerging Python ecosystem tools, backend architecture trends, and AI/ML-enabling technologies relevant to Bhashini 2.0.

· 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a solution architect or senior technical design role.

· Good experience with AI based tools/coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, etc) for development cycle.

· Deep expertise in Python, with strong proficiency in Flask/FastAPI and backend system design.

· Proven track record of architecting and delivering scalable microservices and RESTful APIs in production.

· Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Redis, etc.).

· Hands-on expertise with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

· Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) at scale.

· Solid understanding of distributed system design, caching strategies, security principles, and performance optimization.

· Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native deployment practices (AWS/GCP/Azure).

· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.

· Exposure to frontend technologies to assess full-stack architectural impacts.

· Experience with AI/ML systems integration, particularly in NLP or Speech technologies.

· Prior contributions to large-scale government, public digital infrastructure, or open-source projects.

· Experience working in highly agile environments with multiple cross-functional teams.

· Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native deployment practices (AWS/GCP/Azure).

· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
