We are looking for strong Java Technical Lead for one of our leading technology program

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead with strong expertise in Java and Kafka to join our team. The role will involve leading a team of engineers, driving technical delivery, and working closely with stakeholders to build and enhance scalable enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java-based backend development, event-driven architecture, Kafka, microservices, and should be comfortable providing technical leadership to a growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Java engineers and provide technical direction across projects
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka
- Own technical design, architecture decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices
- Work closely with product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and offshore/onshore teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, performance, and development standards
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis and resolution
- Ensure timely delivery of technical milestones while maintaining quality
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Mentor team members and contribute to building a strong engineering culture
- Collaborate with distributed teams and effectively communicate technical decisions and project status
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD practices, automation, and engineering standards
Core Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17+
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework
- Good understanding of Microservices architecture
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and event-driven design
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend application development
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Experience with at least one NoSQL database or technology, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis, or equivalent
- Good understanding of distributed systems and application scalability
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices
Leadership Skills
- Proven experience leading a team of software engineers
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor developers
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams
Good to Have
- Experience working on Order Management Systems (OMS) or large-scale enterprise platforms
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis
- Experience with automated testing and TDD/BDD practices
- Exposure to observability and monitoring tools
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
