Talkdesk is expanding its US FedRAMP team and looking for a Lead Patch Engineer to lead our organization wide infrastructure and application patching efforts.

This is a fully remote, full-time exempt position. All work must be performed on US Soil.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a modest team of Patch Engineers to ensure patching levels are in line with the FedRAMP Moderate Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Providing the most secure and up to date building blocks for our deployed environments as possible.
  • Identify and address opportunities to automate and/or streamline our patching processes, tools, and procedures.
  • Identify and communicate to appropriate teams any breaking changes to applications and infra ahead of upcoming changes or SLA deadline breaches providing them maximum time to review and address.
  • Assist Security Teams with reviewing scan results including identifying false positives, reviewing assigned risk levels, and tracking vendor dependencies.
  • Review and assist with monthly vulnerability reports.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Center for Internet Security Level 1 compliance of our base Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) and Container images.

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of computer science/information technology and/or information security experience
  • At least 5 years of linux patching experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in supporting a continuous monitoring/patching environment/pipeline in an AWS environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience with container technologies such as: Docker, EKS, Podmon.
  • Experience with AWS Systems Manager (SSM)
  • Experience with 1 or more of the following tools: Defect Dojo, Anchore, Nessus, Tenable, or equivalent competing tools.
  • General understanding of Database, Server, and Network technologies
  • Experience with 1 of more of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Java, Kotlin
  • Experience collecting, transforming, and reporting from CSV/Spreadsheet data
  • Creative and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and proactively, but also know when and what to delegate.
  • Insatiable curiosity and passion for problem solving.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
