The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you will lead, design, develop, configure, and customize (when necessary) applications and services. You will deliver new functionality across applications, support the entire development lifecycle and assist the platform support with product related incident resolution.

This role positions you as a Subject Matter Expert, steering the creation and implementation of automation solutions to optimize Takeda’s IT Service Management processes. With a specific emphasis on the Service Catalog module, you will ensure seamless functionality, enhanced operational efficiency, and a user-friendly experience. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Service Catalog items and workflows within Takeda’s platform, leveraging your technical expertise in development practices and a deep understanding of IT Service Management and business process automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize Service Catalog items and workflows using Generic Workflow, Flow Designer, scripting, and APIs to deliver efficient and maintainable service request processes.
• Design and implement scalable solutions using the Service Catalog module and App Engine to address complex business needs and extend platform capabilities.
• Design and develop scoped applications using App Engine Studio and Flow Designer to address custom business needs and extend beyond out-of-the-box capabilities, while improving operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions, including identifying opportunities for App Engine applications.
• Integrate with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
• Build and support integrations between and third-party systems to enhance workflow automation.
• Enhance user experience and implement automation to optimize service delivery.
• Drive innovation and optimize Service Catalog functionality to meet evolving business needs.
• Understand the working environment and come up with solutions to better deliver in shorter time frame.
• Maintain and update Service Catalog offerings to ensure scalability and usability.
• Document all configurations, workflows, and processes to ensure clear communication and future scalability.
• Present product demos and technical showcases for stakeholders.
• Adherence to best practices, Takeda-defined standards, and Agile development schedules.　
• Leverage Takeda’s SDLC toolset for efficient development and deployment.
• Stay updated on advancements, incorporating new features into solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Information technology; or relevant work experience.
• 4+ years of experience in architecting, designing and developing solutions (especially, IT Service Management process applications and Service Catalog modules).
• 2+ experience with Service Catalog module is a must.
• 1+ years of experience in developing applications and integrations using AES is a must.
• Expert in scripting languages like JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS
• Strong understanding of IT Service Management processes.
• Strong expertise with platform development, especially Service Catalog, Flow Designer, integration and app development
• Proficient in creating Server-side and Client-side scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, and ACLs.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions.
• System Administrator certification (required).
• Application Developer certification (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English (both written and oral).
