T. Rowe Price is seeking a Software Engineer who has a passion, vision and technical acumen to help meet the needs of the Individual Investors Secure Digital Experience business. You’ll be hands-on coding through the entire development lifecycle. We are transforming client experiences through cloud computing, lightweight Java microservices, single-page application front ends (React/Angular), and highly resilient software services.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with 2+ years of Java microservice development and AWS experience.
- Contributes to all parts of the SDLC, e.g., design, development, and testing
- Develops technical solutions following standard methodologies with some guidance from senior engineers
- Practices automated testing and tests your work in an automated and repeatable way
- Works with existing data models and schemas and suggests changes and improvements where necessary
- Demonstrates strong logic and reasoning capabilities
- Delivers on well-specified work items
- Uses questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear
Business Knowledge
- Experience working directly with business partners
- Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
- Connects one's own work with the strategy of their team and/or department.
- Can competently engage in business-led conversations.
Requirements
- Typically a completed BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 2+ years of progressive Java development
- Experience with ReactJS or other JavaScript framework helpful
- Experience in AWS cloud technologies helpful
- Expertise designing, developing, deploying, and supporting java-based solutions
- Able to quickly learn new technologies and stay abreast of industry trends
- Able to work with existing data models and schemas and suggest changes and improvements
- Able to operate with openness and efficiency with one or more SDLC methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
- Actively seeks feedback and guidance to improve technical skills (e.g., through submitting work for code review)
- Works with existing data models and schemas and suggests changes and improvements where necessary
- Debugs and fixes your own software with minimal assistance

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.
Base salary ranges:
$115,500.00 - $197,000.00 for the location of: California, New York$101,500.00 - $174,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$92,500.00 - $158,500.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
