The EA function will align technology with business capabilities to enable effective strategy execution and business transformation. By monitoring and adopting emerging technologies, EA will drive technology enabled innovation and keep the firm ahead of industry disruption. 

Position Summary:  

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Enterprise Architect - Technical Platforms to join our team. This role will be responsible for the strategic design, development, and implementation of  Common Technical platforms across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise architecture, excellent leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of technical platform ecosystems that optimize developer experience and accelerate the delivery of customer value 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning and Development: 

  • Develop and maintain the technology platform architecture strategy and roadmap. 

  • Ensure alignment of platform architecture with the organization’s business objectives and IT strategy. 

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance platform capabilities and performance. 

Architecture Design and Implementation: 

  • Lead the design and deployment of robust, scalable, and secure technology platforms. 

  • Ensure platforms adhere to enterprise architecture standards and best practices. 

  • Oversee the integration of various platforms within the enterprise technology landscape. 

Leadership and Collaboration: 

  • Lead and mentor a team of architects and engineers, promoting a collaborative and innovative culture. 

  • Collaborate with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of platform projects. 

  • Provide expert guidance on technology platform architecture to various teams within the organization. 

Governance and Compliance: 

  • Establish and enforce policies, standards, and guidelines for technology platform architecture. 

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for all platform solutions. 

  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of platform architecture to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities. 

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in technology platform architecture, focusing on optimization and modernization. 

  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to maintain a competitive edge. 

  • Implement best practices for platform performance tuning and optimization. 

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior Enterprise Architecture role. 

  • Proven experience leading technology platform architecture projects in large, complex environments. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Deep understanding of platform architecture and engineering principles, patterns, and best practices. 

  • Experience with a variety of technical platforms (e.g., APIM, Messaging Middleware, DevSecOps, Observability, Developer Portal or Experience Platform, etc ). 

  • Proficiency in multi-cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their platform services. 

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture patterns and practices (e.g., , design patterns for microservices, loosely coupled architecture, DevSecOps practices, etc. ). 

Leadership and Soft Skills: 

  •  Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide teams and develop global teams 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • TOGAF 9 Enterprise Architecture Practitioner certification. 

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools. 

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to technology platforms. 

  • Experience working within the financial services industry, ideally within an EA function within an investment management organization. 

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to three days a week.
